I am 62 with sensitive skin. I confess to being vain about the condition of my skin, and determined to postpone as long as possible the "old lady" look of powdery skin. Well -- Father Time had a different agenda, and a few months ago I realized that my skin had lost its glow despite my bi-weekly use of an exfoliant. I saw Wrinkle Revenge 2 recommended in one of those "sell the products" magazine articles, and decided to give it a try. I've been using it now for about 6 weeks, and notice a marked improvement. My skin is clear, healthy-looking, and the appearance of fine lines is reduced. I have not had any problems with reaction to the glycolic acid, but am not going to "up the ante" and go to the WR3 product just in case. My only caveat -- be careful not to get it in or too close to your eyes -- it burns.

I was really excited to try this after reading the reviews. This was my first experience with using peels. The first time i used it, it really stung and only left it on for about 45 seconds (that was all i could take). The next 2 times i used it i had become a little more accustomed and left it on for about 15 mins both times. I have to honestly say i have not noticed any significant improvement with my acne scars after 3 appications. I am african american with caramel complexion and have really dark acne marks. Not sure if i did anything wrong but i followed the directions to the T and used a flat cotton pad the first time and a fan brush the next 2 times. I used baking soda afterwards to neutralize and a really good moisturizer. I sure hope to see better results with continued application will update later.

11/10/09 - I have to say that i have had better luck with the 20% salicylic acid peel in fading dark spots as that actually makes my skin peel and with each layer that peels off my darks spots get lighter. I will defintely not repurchase this product and have discontinued using it.

Not having the piece of gauze recommended for application, I used a cosmetic wedge sponge to apply the peel. I did apply the product in the order recommended, leaving nose area for last.

Oh boy the burn. I'm no delicate person who breaks out in a rash from using soap or anything, so I was surprised that this gel is strong stuff. I maybe lasted a minute before having to rinse with cool water. It keeps burning while you're rinsing and for a while afterward. My skin is immediately less oily. It feels a bit hot for a while. Even with oily skin you will probably want to use an oil-free moisturizer as recommended.

A couple days later, there was some peeling in the smile lines near my nose. It probably would have been worse if I hadn't applied it last to this area.

And being the bad patient I didn't wait the recommended two weeks before applying again.

A few sessions later, my skin was noticeably clearer. I had a visit with my dermatologist and brought the bottle with me. When I showed it to her, she said it's similar to what they use in the office, just much gentler. She said it's a good thing to continue to use, but that I might require an oral antibiotic to knock the cystic acne out (since cystic acne starts deep in the skin and is often unreachable and unaffected by topical solutions). She also advised me, due to the redness and peeling near my nose, to reduce usage to every two weeks as the product recommends (more is not always better).

In subsequent applications, I have noted that the burning is not as severe and doesn't last as long. Just be prepared near a faucet and a clean towel. Also, be very careful not to get this in your eyes. With the way it burns on the skin, I would think it would be extremely painful if accidentally splashed in an eye.

I'll keep using this product. A little goes a long way, so you'll have many applications before you can use up this bottle. It's economical and effective at reducing my more superficial breakouts and oiliness. Just realize you might need something in addition to this if you're having issues with cystic acne.

Choosing a Peel:

Glycolic - stimulates collagen growth more effectively than any of the other peels. It's small molecule allows it to slip beneath the epidermis to reach the collagen fibers below and results in 15%-25%  thickening over 12 weeks. Glycolic acid is also generally more suited to oily skin.

Lactic - works on the surface of the skin to treat tone, texture, and pigmentation. The Lactic acid molecule works to pull moisture into the cells, and exfoliate surface cells which helps to perfect the skin's surface and restore the skin's natural glow.

Glycolac - With a combination of Glycolic (25%) with Lactic (35%), it provides hydration and tone improvements of the Lactic, with the increased collagen stimulation of the glycolic. It is generally well tolerated because the lactic and glycolic work on different levels or the skin.

Salicylic - a great kertolytic which means it helps loosen the bonds between skin cells to promote exfoliating. It is the only hydroxy acid which is oil soluble which allows it to penetrate into clogged pores. It can be used more frequently than the other peels without must risk for irritation.

BHA+ - Hands down the best peel for acne and oily skin. You should expect some visible flaking of the skin 2 days after using the peel. This will help with active acne blemishes as well as old acne marks, and a variety of other skin problems.

HQ+ - This peel is best for pigmentation and scarring. Similar to our BHA+ peel, with added ingredients which to help to fade pigmentation differences and even skin tone. If you suffer from old acne marks, age spots, or melasma, this peel will be the most effective in helping you.

I'll start off with saying that I bought the 35 glycolic peel for my acne and was able to leave it on for 10 minutes (with little to no pain at all) and I applied it every three days. I honestly didn't see much as far as results so I ordered the BHA+.

I just applied it about half an hour ago for the first time and thought I would give anyone an idea of my first experience with it.

WOW! Much stronger. It felt like it was burning my face off. From the time I started applying to my forehead until the time I started rinsing it off was probably an even 60 seconds. Very painful. It took a lot of rinsing until the burning was just a stinging. I patted my face dry and it was pretty red and still stinging but that all went away within 2 minutes. Even though my face didn't look clearer (obviously blemishes can't disappear that quickly lol), my skin looks more even. Right now my face feels good. I applied a light moisturizer and it doesn't feel dry at all.

Maybe other people don't have such a sensitive reaction to the BHA+ like I did but I feel like I can put up with under 5 minutes of torture if it will clear my skin. Hopefully it will be worth the trouble! :)

I will update again in a few weeks to let you all know how it works in the long run. I just felt like this might be important for anyone considering purchasing the product to know what the actual process is like rather than just the results.

I just came on to Amazon to buy my 2nd shipment. I have also recommended this company/product to two other friends + my 62 yo mom who are converts.

I'm a fair-skinned, freckle faced 36 yo originally from Arizona. I spent my fair share in the sun and now am beginning to see the effects of this. On a regular basis, I would have chin breakouts and along my hairline. I also started developing sun spots (wider, browner freckles) on my forehead and cheekbone and fine lines around my eyes (I was anti-sunglasses in the past). I'm going on 3 months of using this product weekly for 3-4 mins each time. I never peel, but my skin gets tight. I did work my way up... beginning at 30 secs the first time and so on... (I have "sensitive" skin so I was leery...)

My skin is smoother, some of my freckles have faded (especially the very prominent ones, my skin feels dewier and some of the crepe-like fine lines are less noticeable. I also know it's working because I still get breakouts on my neck occasionally...so now I'm using the product on my neck to combat this.

My one downside: It doesn't fade the freckles as much as I would like, but the other benefits outweigh this "con".

This product came in the mail very quickly, I have been suffering with moderate adult acne after having children. I bought this and the salycilic acid peel, which I have not applied yet.I have tried everything and ordered this as a last resort before the holidays to help with acne, mild scarring, uneven skin tissue. I just applied my first home peel ever and have to say it could not have been easier. The gel is easily applied and you can feel a tingle after 45 seconds, I left it on for a min. and a half the first time and probably should have done the minute only, I just wanted to see quick results. It has been an hour since I applied the peel and my skin already has a much healthier glow and looks more plump, I can't imagine how it will look after a few more applications. You can't beat the price, I have spent much, much, more on an array of products and none of them have made my skin look this glowing. This product is a must have!

I have had 4 peels, and the hyperpigmentation in my face has been broken and faded.
I scrub it very gently, and only once for 4 minutes. I am going to complete the 6 peels, and rest for a couple of months before re-starting. Also, the bottle is still 3/4 full.
